Our Partners

Increasing Impact

Trialliance At Casa de Esperanza partnership is a guiding principle as well as an organizational strategy. Because we believe that community--not systems--will end domestic violence, every ally must be enlisted. We cannot do the work alone. Partnership is a path to greater impact.

We seek partners that are committed to diversity. By building their capacity to meet the needs of battered Latinas, we broaden the resources Latinas can access to reach their goals.

We will partner with organizations exhibiting:

  • A demonstrated commitment to Latino communities
  • An understanding that strategies--that we implement together--will be based in the realities of Latino communities and will be developed for and led by Latinas.
  • A concrete articulation of self-interest in developing and sustaining a strategic partnership with Casa de Esperanza.

Our philosophy of partnership guides us:

  • We seek "win-win" relationships. Every alliance with Casa de Esperanza is designed to benefit and advance the mission of each organization.
  • Mutual trust is essential.
  • Our partnerships engage entire organizations, not just a few people. Mutual commitment results in merged strategies and efforts that are often an outgrowth of joint staff meetings.
  • We participate in partnerships to accomplish goals--not for the purpose of obtaining funding.

Casa de Esperanza is currently partnering with the following organizations. We encourage you to check out their websites!

Asian Women United of Minnesota and Domestic Abuse Project (DAP)
This partnership--including two organizations of color and one mainstream organization--seeks to improve the multicultural effectiveness of all three members. We are committed to current and emerging leadership by women of color-not only in our agencies but also throughout the field of domestic violence. Our strategic alliance reframes the expectations for collaboration within the field of domestic violence and brings women of color to the forefront in leading groundbreaking work. www.awum.org and www.mndap.org

Latino Churches
We are collaborating with Latino churches (of varying denominations) throughout the Twin Cities to train congregation response teams. Each church recruits volunteers from its congregation to be trained by Casa de Esperanza to support others who desire to end the violence in their relationships. The Commission on Women of the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis was instrumental in establishing our initial relationships with Catholic congregations.

Centro Legal
The purpose of our alliance is to assist battered Latinas with legal or immigration issues that surface due to domestic violence. A Casa de Esperanza staff member facilitates communication between our advocates and Centro Legal lawyers, enhancing both agencies' service to Latinas and their families. www.mtn.org/~centrolegal

Centro, Inc.
Centro and Casa de Esperanza are currently in the initial exploration stages that precede a partnership agreement. Having cooperated informally for many years, we anticipate coming together to focus on and improve services to Latino families. www.centromn.org
