Our initiative, Leadership Development for Latinas, gives Latinas the opportunity to develop skills and the means to use those skills to support, educate and encourage other Latinas—their neighbors, friends and relatives.
Leadership Development for Latinas equips women with leadership, communication and presentation skills. We then support the women to offer workshops for other Latinas in community settings. The Latina leaders (líderes) shape their workshops (talleres) around topics of interest to the women who attend—the topics often relate to family, children or personal growth. We integrate learning about domestic violence into the leaders’ training, so they are prepared when the subject comes up during a workshop.
If you live in the St. Paul/Minneapolis area and are interested in becoming a líder, email us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
